In Guild of Guardians, powering up a Guardian involves advancing them along two distinct but interconnected paths: Enlightenment (EN) and Radiance (RAD). Each path requires different resources and provides a way to increase the Guardian's power. Progression is not just about gathering resources; it's about using them strategically, as the two paths influence each other in critical ways. Enlightenment and Radiance are typically expressed in a xx/yy syntax where xx equals the Enlightenment level and yy equals the Radiance level. For example "8/3" equates to a guardian with a Enlightenment level for 8 and an Radiance level of 3.
Enlightenment is the primary leveling system. It acts as a series of gates you must pass through to increase your Guardian's core level.
To increase a Guardian's EN level, you must provide a specific combination of two resources:
The game shows the requirements for the next EN level. Once all requirements for that level are met, the Guardian's EN level increases automatically.

Radiance is a secondary power track that runs parallel to Enlightenment. Instead of requiring specific items, it is fueled by a single resource: Radiant XP. Each Radiance level requires a specific threshold of Radiant XP to be met.
There are three primary ways to gain Radiant XP:

Both Enlightenment and Radiance contribute to a Guardian's total Growth Rate. This rate provides a multiplier to the Guardian's primary stats, making them more powerful with each level of Enlightenment and Radiance achieved. With the latest updates, Rare, Epic, and Legendary Guardians now share a unified base growth curve, meaning all rarities start equal and scale consistently. Higher-rarity Guardians simply benefit from a longer progression path.

In Guild of Guardians, you can turn your regular in-game characters, known as Guardians, into NFTs. This process is called Ascension. Ascended Guardians are known as Radiant Guardians.
Ascending a Guardian to a Radiant Guardian offers a couple of key advantages. First, Radiant Guardians are more powerful than their regular counterparts, receiving significant boosts to their stats. This makes them more effective in dungeons and other game modes. Second, as NFTs, Radiant Guardians can be traded on the marketplace. This allows you to sell your powered-up Guardians to other players.
To ascend a Guardian, you need a special in-game resource called Ascension Seals. The number of seals required to ascend a Guardian can change. The cost is influenced by how many Radiant Guardians of that type already exist. This creates a market-driven economy for Ascension.
You can get Ascension Seals by purchasing them. They are available in the in-game store for real money. You can also buy them from Eri's Store using $GOG tokens, which can be earned from leaderboard performance. Buying from Eri's Store is often cheaper than buying in-game, especially if you buy in bulk.
Once the process is finished, your Guardian will be a Radiant Guardian and an NFT in your wallet.
